Wanaka Hotel, Wanaka

The hotel offers clean and basic rooms with a beautiful view over the lake and a balcony. It is well-maintained and quite basic as expected, but very clean. However, there were some issues with thin walls and a dripping shower unit. The lack of a microwave and few utensils like bottle openers was noticeable.

The hotel rooms are warm and clean with a snug vibe, offering all the essentials you need right at hand, though they appear a bit tired and dated. The service was a mix of warmth and slight hiccups with some room requirement changes without notice. The location is great, just a minute's walk to Lake Wanaka, but interactions with staff felt somewhat limited. Dining options were convenient with the ability to charge to the room, but seasonal dishes may not suit all tastes.

The hotel was smack in the center of town and just a short stroll away from Lake Wanaka, making it super convenient. The rooms, albeit a bit outdated, provided a cozy retreat in the heart of winter, although the heaters didn't kick in until 4 pm. The service was attentive, even allowing us to keep our room for a few extra hours so we could freshen up after climbing Roys Peak.

Our stay at the hotel was a mix of positives like a cozy room with a great view of Lake Wanaka and some noise disturbances from a school group. The room, although small, was well-equipped and clean, offering a pleasant stay overall.

The hotel is in a central location, great for exploring and close to dining options. The rooms, despite being fully booked for the following evening, were a bit hot with the afternoon sun and lacked some amenities like a heating hanging rack. However, the rooms were peaceful without road noise.
